The MAC Program is a bold, community-driven initiative launched by the Relume Foundation, created to respond to the urgent needs of migrant youth across New York City. These young people, many navigating displacement, language barriers, and trauma, deserve a responsive system that sees their potential and supports their path forward.
In collaboration with the Office of Temporary and Disability Assistance (OTDA), the MAC Program is uniquely positioned to reach Migrant youths aged 15-24 and their community to help them gain access to education assistance, wellness initiatives, social integration, and stability.
Together, we are working to ensure that every migrant youth can thrive.Core Areas of Impact:
- Health Navigation for Migrant Youth:
Partnering with OTDA and local health agencies, MAC provides trauma-informed, multilingual support to connect youth with physical and mental healthcare, ensuring no young person falls through the cracks
. - Educational Stability & Support:
Through virtual and in-person tutoring, mentorship, and school system navigation, MAC helps migrant youth re-engage with learning, overcome educational gaps, and build confidence for their future.
- Youth Leadership & Belonging:
MAC cultivates safe, creative spaces for migrant youth to explore their identity, develop leadership skills, and connect with peers who understand their journey.
- Public Resource Navigation:
MAC helps families and unaccompanied minors understand and access benefits, housing support, and other critical services essential for their well-being, including green card processing for youths under age 21 and legal assistance.
- Future-Ready Pathways:
Through career exploration, skill-building workshops, and job readiness training, MAC equips migrant youth with the tools they need for long-term success in a new country.
